My primary goal is to create an environment where you feel safe, accepted, and understood. I am an adult psychiatrist offering treatment with both medications and psychotherapy. Medications can be helpful, but medicine is never the sole answer to our problems. As a psychiatrist who also does psychotherapy, I will work collaboratively with you to develop a treatment plan which includes the role of physical activity, relationships, nutrition and work/life balance. I treat adults with depression, anxiety disorders (including generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder), mood disorders, and ADHD.
I also have additional training in the overlap of medical and psychological issues, including cancer and chronic pain. I work with women who are currently pregnant, or postpartum, as well as women with pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder. I also enjoy working with students and professionals.
I completed my residency and fellowship training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in both general psychiatry and in psychosomatic medicine (also called consultation-liaison psychiatry).
