I am a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, practicing since 2012. My treatment philosophy goes far beyond merely providing a prescription. I want to listen to what is happening in your life and how it affects your symptoms. Treating the whole person is a unique attribute of a nurse practitioner, it’s our super power! I DO NOT PROVIDE PSYCHOTHERAPY, ONLY MEDICATION MANAGEMENT.
I believe the things that happen in our lives and how they affect us are a combination of the emotional aspects of who we are and how the chemicals in our brains that help control our mood interact. It is that combination that makes us all individuals. It is my job to find the aspects of your mood that can be helped by medication to improve your life.
Some people are scared of medications. I understand that and will always take the time to explain what medications I choose for you and why, or if I feel you would not benefit from medication at all, and why. I love my work because I get to meet all kinds of people and help support them on the journey to being their best selves.
