I am board-certified psychiatrist, psychotherapist and psychoanalyst-in-training in private practice in Portland, Oregon. I take an integrative approach to psychiatric evaluation and treatment that incorporates neurodevelopmental, psychological, social and culture components. I focus on working with adults with a wide range of issues, including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, life transitions, relational challenges, trauma, peripartum and women's mental health issues across the lifespan. I offer consultation to therapists and other clinicians to help clarify diagnosis and treatment plans.
As a psychoanalytic candidate at the Oregon Psychoanalytic Institute, the focus of my practice is working with individuals in a deep process aimed at lasting change, building capacities for creative thinking and making meaning of one's life experiences. This often means meeting several times a week. Psychoanalysis (4-5x/week) is recommended in select cases.
I begin meeting with you in a consultation model to get to know you over 2-5 visits. I see individuals over the age of 16 for at least weekly psychotherapy. When appropriate, medications can be utilized but this is not a requirement for our work together. I do not prescribe medications alone absent psychotherapy (with myself or another therapist).
