I am LaKisha Knight- a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), with a master's in nursing Practice. I am passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. I possess strong clinical skills enhanced by a natural ability to build rapport with patients and families. I follow evidence-based guidelines blended with clinical experience, personal observation, and intuition.
My approach to care is to always foster a synergistic relationship between the patients and myself in order to encourage the patients to take an active role in managing their mental health. My desire is always to create an environment that is a "safe space" for the patient to share their true feelings, experiences, and symptoms without fear of judgment.
During our first session, I will start by getting basic medical history and mental health history. After that, I will allow the Patient to elaborate on the current mental health symptoms or disorders they need assistance or treatment.
