My ideal client would be one that desires the help offered, who places importance in themselves and fights for their happiness and their life. I truly enjoy sharing in goal-setting and ultimately goal-achieving with my clients, and find my greatest joy in hearing of their successes and personal growth. I personally enjoy getting to know my clients on an equal footing as fellow human beings. I do not accept patients currently on benzodiazepines (Ativan, Xanax, Klonopin).
In my role, I conduct assessments, formulate diagnoses, and prescribe medications or therapies I feel, through mutual input of the client, can best meet their needs. I prefer to work "with people" and not "on people". I engage readily in brief supportive psychotherapy to ensure that even shorter follow-up appointments are worth your time and efforts.
I understand that life is challenging, some times more so than others. I don't view my clients as a "project" or a "puzzle", but rather dynamic human beings with stories and backgrounds as diverse as the number of people I encounter.
