I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Through a patient-centered, holistic approach, I provide collaborative guidance and support for individuals and families seeking mental illness treatment. I work with clients ranging from adolescents, beginning at the age of 12, to adults beginning at the age of 18 and older. I provide treatment options and care plans for individuals with anxiety, depression, psychotic disorders, and attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
My approach to providing mental healthcare uses the patient-centered holistic care theory. I prioritize my client’s individual needs, values, and preferences to maintain a collaborative approach to treatment options and decisions. I value and view my patients as a whole individual, and I approach care with strong consideration.
I use assertive communication to provide a structured, yet judgment-free environment to create therapeutic relationships with my clients during our sessions. A session with my client consists of mutual respect and adherence to the client’s privacy and safety. I allow patients to express their ideas and feelings regarding treatment options fully.
