To me, the most rewarding aspect of psychiatry is building therapeutic relationships. I believe that understanding you as a person, not just your symptoms, is essential for successful treatment. Whether through ongoing therapy or simply managing medications, a strong connection is the foundation of effective care. While I have expertise in prescribing medications, I view medication as most beneficial when paired with talk therapy. In cases where medication is necessary, it is not typically the whole solution. My goal is to provide holistic care whether this involves medication, therapy, or both.
I have worked in various psychiatric settings such as community and state hospitals in Texas, Washington, and New Zealand. I aim to provide compassionate care for a wide variety of psychiatric conditions, addressing everything from daily stressors to more complex and persistent mental illness.
I am now accepting new patients for both in person and virtual appointments. My office is located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Austin. Reach out via email and I will respond to set up a brief phone call to see if we would be a good fit.
