My path to becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is rooted in a strong personal desire to lessen the frequently unseen pain of those who are dealing with mental health issues. I became interested in providing compassionate, evidence-based care after seeing firsthand the terrible effects of untreated mental illness in my work line and community, especially for individuals who face stigma and obstacles to receiving treatment.
Having worked as a registered nurse in a variety of psychiatric settings, I have a solid foundation in therapeutic communication, crisis intervention, and medication management. This has reinforced my desire to learn more and become a committed mental health and wellness advocate.
My goal is to utilize my clinical expertise to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can openly share their struggles and work towards a fulfilling life, contributing to a broader societal shift towards mental health literacy and destigmatization."
