I have over 20 years of expertise working with adult patients with issues with their mood, anxiety disorders, and ADHD. Many of my patients are women whose mental health is affected by their hormonal state (pre-menstrual, postpartum, or menopausal). I see people of all genders though with a variety of mental health concerns.
I am not your an average psychiatrist who likes to prescribe medications endlessly and at high doses. Psych meds often have side effects and are not always effective. I believe in using the minimal amount of medication for as little time as possible. Sometimes this means no meds, while others it may be quite a few. The duration varies.
I work with my patients to find the best solution for their specific, individual needs. Often, my patients also see a separate therapist. I believe in communicating with their therapist, their primary care provider, and often a loved one since I see myself as just one member of the team trying to help the patient feel their best.
