I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist offering psychiatric consultation, psychotherapy and medication management. I value confidentiality, and listening to my patients is a significant part of the work I do. How I practice is largely influenced by my appreciation for the unique biological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual aspects of an individual person. I see adults struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, academic/ professional concerns and life transition difficulties among others.
I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy and incorporate other techniques when appropriate. The goals are to develop awareness, and learn healthy and effective ways for resolving emotional challenges that interfere with living life fully. While medications are often helpful for alleviating symptoms, they need to be used thoughtfully and rationally.
