Personality disorders are treatable, contrary to common belief. My speciality is Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP). I work with patients who may or may not be acutely symptomatic but continue to struggle even after several prior treatments. Besides of Borderline patients, I work with a broad range of personality disorders. I use medications when they can be effective, and based on your symptoms. I also work with younger adults who display "failure to launch". In any case, our work will start with a thorough assessment and I will share my impression with you as well as what I recommend. We'll also see are we a good match?
Depression and anxiety are symptoms that can have various causes. I almost always combine therapy with medications. Sometimes you will be able to stop taking medications. Other times, finding the right medication or combination is challenging. When necessary I use the latest genetic test to help with this process.
Some of the difficulties I can help you with are self-defeating tendencies, dissatisfaction with self and others, self-destructive behaviors, repeated maladaptive patterns in interpersonal and/or work situations,sexual inhibition. I have special expertise differentiating bipolar and borderline personality disorders as well as a specialized therapy: TFP.
