Hello, my name is Josh. I am a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and have been in practice since 2016. Since then, I have worked in a variety of psychiatric settings including outpatient, inpatient, and community mental health. Prior to my certification as a PMHNP-BC, I worked as a Registered Nurse providing behavioral health care to residential, child and adolescent clients. During my years in practice, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of mental health challenges and bring that wealth of experience into each visit.
When working with a new client, I typically perform a comprehensive evaluation, which means I’ll run through a variety of questions to get to know you better and see how I can best be of service. This usually takes about an hour. We’ll have a thirty-minute follow-up visit one week later and another a month after that. This helps to prevent gaps in care.
My approach is based on considering not only the organic illness, but also exploring other factors that are exacerbating or alleviating the mental health challenges that motivated you to seek help.
