About
I obtained my Masters of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas at Arlington where I was the recipient of the Ella Kate and Wallace Ralston graduate nursing scholarship award. As a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I complete a thorough psychiatric evaluation in order to diagnose and then partner with my patients to formulate the best-individualized plan of treatment. I have worked in a variety of practice settings including: inpatient, residential treatment, community health, private practice, and nursing homes.
I combine psychopharmacology along with psychotherapy and strategies of self-care, and prescribe medications when indicated for all psychiatric disorders as well as substance abuse problems. Considerations for medication intervention are made based on clinical evidence, health history, prior treatment, and coexisting medical conditions.
Mental health issues can be daunting, and I enjoy coming alongside patients and families to help educate, treat, and guide them through change and to an improved quality of life. I look forward to partnering with you - Jolyn
