Children, teens, and young adults often struggle when facing new experiences and developmental transitions. Through these challenges they learn more about themselves and the type of individual they wish to become. Several of my patients appear content when viewed outwardly, but privately are struggling with depression, anxiety, or other emotional concerns. Behavioral health interventions in the form of medication or talk therapy can be very powerful tools to help overcome these hurdles.
My holistic and culturally competent model maintains an attitude of compassion, curiosity and warmth. After learning more about you and/or your child, and developing a treatment plan, I provide medication management and encourage talk therapy. If a patient is under 18, I rely on continued communication with parents/guardians because you know your child best.
I am a dual board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist and can provide care to both English and Spanish speaking families. I have a breadth of experience with various ages and diverse populations, but have expertise in treating depression, anxiety, and trauma. I am currently accepting new patients - children and teens in Bexar & Travis County.
