JaShunta “Jai” Carson Is a board-certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In addition to her clinical experience, Ms. Carson’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, a Master’s of Science in Environmental Science and Rural Occupational Health from the University of Alabama, as well as second Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and finally a second Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Jai has worked in various medical hospital settings including Trauma, Burns, ICU, Emergency Room, PACU, Stepdown, and Med Surg units as a nurse all while studying to become a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Jai wanted to be a well-rounded provider.
In her free time, JaShunta enjoys spending time with her son and family, traveling the world, and exercising daily. She enjoys mentoring nursing students and precepting Nurse Practitioner Students and is interested in working to streamline systems in healthcare delivery models.
