But in an industry where patients outnumber practitioners 340 to 1, it is hard not to fall into the trap of desensitization - the tendency to treat patients not as people, but as cases. It wasn’t the kind of practitioner I wanted to be. So last 2023, I decided to start my own clinic - MindWell Mental Health Services - intent on maintaining that sincere desire to help others, that personalized approach, that human-to-human connection, that warmth, that dimension.
Now, I have a team who share the same belief and goal: that every patient should leave us with more than a prescription or treatment instructions, but the encouragement in knowing that there are people who truly care for their wellbeing.
