As a psychiatrist, I work with clients to develop a holistic plan to promote mental health and well-being. A holistic plan necessarily looks different for each individual. Generally there is a role for medication, psychotherapy or discussion on psychological growth, and practical changes in the way one lives. In particular, how we take care of our bodies with exercise and what we eat plays a large role. Working together, we can use evidence-based treatments to serve your individualized needs and goals.
Once we organize a plan, we turn to the work of recovery together. Where appropriate, we may agree upon a medication which I prescribe. We may develop a plan around psychotherapy which may involve referrals to a psychotherapist. If changes to lifestyle are in order, including supplements and alternative treatments, we'll develop a pan around that together.
To recover from a mental health issue, or to grow and change when life seems to demand it, is not easy. There is help for the pain and disorientation of such conditions, and I hope you seek it.
