Dr. Isabel Puri is a board-certified adult and child and adolescent psychiatrist. She has a special interest in trauma-related issues and the effects of trauma on the whole body. Dr. Puri focuses on helping the mind, body, heart, and soul reintegrate and heal, growing and evolving further toward optimal health and well-being. She was born in London, England, and grew up in New Delhi, India. Dr. Puri completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey.
Dr. Puri moved to San Diego in 1995 and has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings with an increasing interest in holistic and integrative psychiatry with specialized training. She started a specialized amino acid therapy program in 2005.
Dr. Puri's hobbies include walking, running, spirituality, communing with nature, educating herself by reading about complementary medicine, and spending time with family and friends.
