Available for teletherapy in AZ & CA; in person therapy in CA. College students, teens, and young professionals who want to explore their identities and process their past experiences (immigrant, LGBTQ, family, race) using intensive personal psychotherapy are my specialty. As a faculty member working at an academic medical center, I specialize in working with students and young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, OCD, and perfectionism. I focus on helping patients work on school/academic issues, suicidal thoughts, and identity issues. I am also double-board certified in adult psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry.
I completed my undergraduate work at Johns Hopkins and underwent medical training and residency at academic medical centers including Dartmouth, UC Irvine, and University of Maryland. I am currently serving as a faculty member at Loma Linda University. You will be able to experience the academic level of care in a concierge private practice setting.
As a first-generation Korean American immigrant myself, I have understood what immigrant or second-generation students go through in college and the pressures of balancing academics and family expectations. I also enjoy working with patients to explore their identities, including gender issues, sexual orientation, religion, and careers.
