I have many years of experience treating adults, couples and families. Some modalities that I employ are psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive therapy and heart-centered hypnotherapy. I am also a yoga teacher and long-time meditator and can teach those methods. My practice is located in downtown Manhattan as well as in New Paltz, New York.I have experience with most diagnoses having worked in an inner-city out-patient clinic. My ideal clients are motivated to collaborate with me in order to improve the quality of their lives. I treat a cross section of issues.
Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy is one of my favorite approaches as it is helpful in having clients be in a relaxed state, thereby enabling them to more easily access subconscious material. Additionally Cognitive Therapy is useful when identifying and correcting dysfunctional thoughts which lead to distressing mental and emotional states.
Though not officially a Jungian analyst, I am familiar with that approach to therapy and enjoy facilitating transpersonal journeys. I believe that personal growth and development is a lifelong process. I look for healthy aspects of my clients preferring not to pathologize them. I myself am always learning and growing.
