I am an allopathic physician trained in child and adolescent psychiatry. I have a faculty appointment at Yale Univ. School of Medicine - treating the most complex mental illness in the country. I am conducting psychedelic trials for treatment resistant depression as well collaborate with leader in pediatric anxiety disorders. All of this towards the singular goal of affecting meaningful change that helps patients (and their families, necessarily).

I am a board-certified family psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner specializing in female health psychiatry, male health, and adolescent psychiatry. My focus is on health promotion during life transitions such as pregnancy, and childbirth, for both females and males, as well as changes in schools and college admissions for teenagers and adolescents. Dr. DeSarbo is a Board Certified psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of EATING DISORDERS and general psychiatry including mood disorders, anxiety issues, ADHD, OCD, relationship issues. In addition to psychopharmacology, he also practices CBT and existential therapy. He is the Medical Director of ED-180 Eating Disorder Treatment Programs which provides custom intensive treatment programs for patients in the Long Island/NYC area. He is also an author, a lecturer and the founder and host of the annual Long Island Conference on Eating Disorders. He oversees a full staff of therapists and clinicians at his offices.
