I completed my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees at Case Western Reserve University. I went on to complete my Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in a variety of nursing specialties. I am an active member in Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. I aim to provide my patients with the support they need based on their individually unique situations. Born and raised in Kansas City, I decided to pursue a medical career during high school. I went to trade school and worked as a medical assistant and phlebotomist. After several years I decided to further my education in nursing, attaining my LPN, RN, BSN, MSN, and post-graduate certification. I graduated summa cum laude from all nursing coursework. Margurite decided to pursue my PMHNP certification out of my desire to more effectively help others suffering from anxiety and depression.

Specifically, diagnoses can be managed with limited medications on a consistent basis, as well as as needed medications. In some situations, there are compounding health or medical issues that can make this difficult. Medical, physical, hormonal and physiological components can be factors contributing to the presentation of psychiatric symptoms. I am a Board-certified adult psychiatrist, practicing Psychiatry since graduating from medical school in 2005. I have also done fellowship in Psychoanalysis from Boston Psychoanalytic Institute and Society and also holds an unrestricted license to prescribe Suboxone for management of patients with opiate addiction. I am originally from Pakistan and come from a family of physicians and surgeons. Following the footsteps of my family members and keeping the tradition of practicing medicine alive, I am now the fourth-generation physician in my family and the third generation practicing medicine in the USA.

I finished my first masters degree as and Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist in 2017 from California State University at Dominguez Hills and started managing extremely sick people in a long-term acute care hospital One universal I’ve seen throughout my many different careers in and out of healthcare is that the presence (or absence) of good mental health care spells the difference between success and failure in any environment.
