I am a Board-certified adult psychiatrist with over 25 years of clinical experience. After obtaining a BA in Human Biology at Stanford my first career was in high-tech consulting in Silicon Valley. I then attended medical school at U.C. Irvine and completed residency training at Stanford. I have served as a clinical assistant professor at Stanford, and am currently an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Arizona College of Medicine.
I am an Adjunct Fellow at the National Institute of Complementary Medicine, Health Research Institute, Western Sydney University. I founded and chaired the American Psychiatric Association’s Caucus on Complementary, Alternative and Integrative Medicine from 2004 through 2010. I have completed intensive training in functional medicine, herbal medicine.
In my person-centered integrative approach, I work with each client to develop an individualized wellness plan that addresses your unique symptoms and interests. I prescribe medications while emphasizing positive life style changes that enhance emotional and mental well-being such as exercise and dietary changes.
