Abbie Kelley, ARNP, PMHNP-BC is a board certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner at Psychiatric Associates at the Cedar Rapids location. She works with individuals ages four and up. She especially enjoys helping those who experience Anxiety Disorders (Generalized Anxiety, OCD, PTSD), Depression and other Mood Disorders, ADHD, Behavioral Disorders, Trauma, Psychotic Disorders, and Bipolar Disorders. In addition, she has a decade of experience managing an inpatient psychiatric unit.

Kathleen is accepting NEW Patients 18+. When a patient arrives at the clinic, they will encounter a healing space with health and wellness in mind. Kathleen is here to hold space during times of crisis. She wants to help you build a treatment plan with your goals in mind. I am a board-certified mental health nurse practitioner. I graduated with my Master's of Science in Nursing in 2021 and have worked as a provider in the Cedar Valley in a variety of settings including corrections, community behavioral health, and caring for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Prior to obtaining my graduate degree, I worked as a psychiatric nurse for 8 years in correctional, inpatient mental health, outpatient, substance use/detox, and community-based treatment settings. I value my diverse work experience and believes that it assists me to meet individuals where they are at in life.

I began my career in 2006 as a social worker in Dubuque. For several years I worked side-by-side with adults and children diagnosed with significant mental health disorders. I then decided to pursue a nursing degree, which led to earning a Master's in Nursing in 2021. Throughout my nursing education, I continued to work in the mental health field in various capacities, realizing this was the specialty that spoke to my heart. Because of my extensive background in the mental health field, I'm able to understand, empathize and relate to my clients; as well as see all of their potential in achieving their goals.
