I am a board-certified psychiatrist practicing in downtown San Francisco. I offer psychotherapy, medication consultation, at-home mental health evaluation, and guided meditation sessions. After training in psychology at Harvard University, I received my medical training at the University of California, San Diego. I completed my internship and psychiatry residency at the University of California, San Francisco, where I pursued research in mindfulness and technology.

I embrace a collaborative approach with my patients. I want to provide knowledge and experience so as to empower my patients to make informed decisions about their available treatment options. My style is grounded in the mind-body connection by blending mindfulness, behaviors, and holistic interventions with medications.

The central concern of my work is mental suffering, it is universal, yet with unique roots for each of us. These are often confusing, even unknown. Harm may be inflicted upon our developing selves, and we may carry the pain outside of awareness. I seek to help with knowing, and with pain. Or we cannot figure out how to care for our particular bodies. They may have biological needs we cannot recognize, or again, carry hidden psychological wounds. I have trained also to help recognize and treat biological needs. I see mind and body as inextricably linked in the pursuit of health, peace, and meaning.

Dr. Alex Clarke, MD is a Board-certified, Stanford-trained psychiatrist and psychotherapist with expertise in biological and psychological approaches to treatment (CBT, Psychoanalytic, EFT, DBT, IPT, Clinical Hypnosis, Mindfulness, etc). He is a skilled and compassionate clinician who emphasizes a highly individualized and collaborative approach to care.

She uses a warm, holistic approach to treating every individual, couple, and family. Dr. Chmura is trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, (CBT, DBT, Supportive). She is an expert on pharmacologic management for depression, anxiety, eating disorders, ADHD, and post-partum depression and anxiety.

I also offer alternative and complementary approaches rooted in strengthening the mind-body connection.
