As a PMHNP, my philosophy is to meet my patients where they are and to provide care that is patient centered. Looking at the whole picture and gathering all the pieces of one’s life is essential in their treatment. In the process of gathering information from patient and family members, all individuals’ values will be respected, and integrity upheld.
The treatment plan that we create together as a team may include non-pharmacological and pharmacological methods. In my practice, I am conservative with pharmacological treatments and I prescribed based off of FDA recommendations. I also develop my treatment plan based off evidence-based practice.
