I love being a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and am honored to help individuals achieve optimal mental health through collaboration and support. I believe everyone can improve mental health and wellness by building on our strengths, learning coping skills, and addressing social supports and physical health. For some clients psychiatric medications are one of the tools for effective healing along with counseling,health education and lifestyle changes. I am happy to provide medication management alone for those already in counseling.
For ten years I have worked with people of all ages. I am fortunate to also have the experience and continuing education to provide mental health care for pregnant and nursing women and pediatric clients.
During my first career as a Speech and Language Therapist I was in classrooms for preschoolers to teens. Knowledge of student expectations and life in real world classrooms has provided a wonderful foundation for addressing the mental, social and behavioral needs of children with Austism, learning disabilities and ADHD.
