People come to me because they are looking for a relational approach that's not rushed. When people are overwhelmed with lack of motivation, low mood, irritability, mood swings or other challenges, I take time to listen to what's most important, what's driving the pain and hear what you're aiming to improve. Sometimes medications are an obvious starting point whereas in other times we work to build coping skills and connection. Supportive therapy can be a game changer. I factor in your sleep patterns, your diet habits and how exercise is part of your life - it is all part of the puzzle.
As a PMHNP, who treats people throughout their lifespan (from childhood to adult), I am comfortable with many different presentations - whether someone is struggling with depression, has concerns for substances, excitability, impulsivity, difficulty focusing and concentrating or unmanageable anxiety. Setting up an appointment is the first step to wellness.
Many people have experienced trauma in their lives, and I'm want to support you wherever you are at. Often I incorporate supportive therapy into our medication management sessions and other times I need to refer people to other specialists.
