I was born and raised in Athens, Greece and attended medical school in Padua, Italy. I completed my psychiatric residency at Mount Sinai West (formerly known as St. Luke's Roosevelt) hospital in New York. I completed my sex therapy training at the University of Michigan. I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQIA+ population. I am able to conduct evaluations and write letters for gender marker changes, hormone therapy, and gender affirming surgery procedures. Furthermore I am working with non-monogamy/polyamory, BDSM/Kink, relationship issues, sex therapy, sex work and trauma issues.

I am a Board Certified psychiatrist who has a bi-coastal practice in NYC & Portland, Oregon. I care for patients both in-person and virtually. My expertise is in providing both psycho-pharmacology & psychotherapy. I specialize in complex & hard to treat cases & work closely with the LGBTQIA+ community. My areas of expertise include Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, & Personality & Substance Use Disorders.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and New York University (NYU). After graduating as chief resident, I went on to pursue a fellowship and work in the public sector serving those most in need. My clients often include those that have been struggling with difficulties that impair their day to day function, leaving them unsatisfied, unhappy or struggling with inner turmoil or anxiety. Dr. Gaveras holds the position of Chief Psychiatrist at Talkiatry. She is board certified in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry as well as in addiction medicine and has been practicing for over 17 years. In addition to general and child and adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Gaveras is also board certified in addiction medicine and trained in the Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions Service (EDCAS) at the William Alanson White Institute. While having treated a wide variety of patients, her primary clinical focus has been in the treatment of adolescents and young adults with co-occuring substance use disorders.

Chris Karampahtsis, MD, MPH, is a Harvard trained, dually board-certified child & adolescent and adult psychiatrist. Currently an adjunct assistant professor of psychiatry at the NYU Long Island School of Medicine, he now brings his wealth of academic and clinical experience to seeing pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients at his private practice.
