I walk around and see others getting on with their lives and wonder what I am doing wrong, why can’t I be like them? I thought I’ll have it all figured out by now. The worst part is making everyone around me believe ‘I got my shit together’. My mind goes round and round at night and I lay starring at the ceiling, and before I know, it is time to start the same routine over again. I am at a standstill; I feel exhausted, overwhelmed and so trapped!
There is truth in your pain; ‘healing takes time and asking for help is a courageous step’. There is no shame in what you are feeling. I have worked as a psychiatry nurse for over 10 years and I will encourage you and work with you to be strong enough to let go of your pain, and patient enough to wait for what you deserve and be content.
Some of my core beliefs are respect, open communication and the idea that everyone is different. I will not approach your treatment with everyone in mind, but modify it to fit your specific need. I will involve you in your care and encourage you to be your own advocate for a better outcome. I will listen to you and work closely with you.
