I am a board-certified, California-licensed and Stanford-trained psychiatrist providing assessments, medication treatments and deep psychotherapy for adult patients. I work to develop deep, trusting and safe alliances with my patients, and collaborate in fostering their own ability to reach their full potential by closely examining the dysfunctional patterns in their emotional and relational lives. Symptoms of anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive tendencies, habit or substance addictions, disordered eating, and sleep problems can all emerge from underlying emotional distress/trauma and maladaptive ways of psychological coping.
After an initial comprehensive evaluation, I provide a multi-dimensional assessment of the presenting problem(s), and propose options of treatment based on that, which often include a combination of medications and intensive psychotherapy. I view myself as a consultant to help you make informed decisions about how you want to confront those issues.
I have a particular interest in working with individuals for whom cross cultural or immigration-related issues play a role in their suffering.
