My name is Grace O. Akinpetide, and I am a dual-certified Psychiatric & Family Nurse Practitioner. Driven by my Ph.D. and DNP, my primary focus remains on the delivery of patient-centered care to help you manage or improve your mental health. My treatment plan consists of using individual and group psychotherapy, medication, and interventions that would suit your needs. I deal with complaints such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic medical illness as well as psychosis. I also have considerable experience in handling medications, stress reduction tactics, sleep problems, as well as dual diagnosis.
My communication style is calm. I make patients comfortable while addressing their concerns and ensuring they are not alone. I also take time to listen without judgment. My connection with patients involves building rapport, working together, and setting achievable, relevant, and valuable goals that align with the patient’s preferences and purpose.
What to expect during the first session is to discuss your chief complaint, history of present illness, risk assessment; mental, substance use, and somatic history; MSE to be done, and diagnosis and treatment plan will be discussed.
