My name is Gonzalo Laje, and I am a double-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience in psychopharmacology. I trained at NYU/Bellevue Hospital and NIMH/Children's in DC and earned degrees from Duke and Harvard University. I evaluate and treat patients of all ages and severities, emphasizing difficult-to-treat cases. My goal is to alleviate your symptoms and improve your quality of life.
I worked at the NIH for almost a decade, focusing on pharmacogenetics, neuroimaging, and genetic disorders. I have published peer-reviewed articles in many areas, including autism, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, diagnosis, and use of medication in children and adults. My research experience gives me a different perspective on diagnosis and treatment.
I use a wide range of therapeutic interventions that include behavioral management, psychotherapy, neuromodulation (TMS) and medication. I am very comfortable with the management of regimens that use a single drug to complex multi drug regimens and I am experienced in the use of advanced medications such as ketamine, depot antipsychotics and clozapine.
