My name is Gideon Nyambiya (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-PMHNP-BC) Board Certified. My responsibilities include: 1) Prescribing medications for various mental health disorders by applying evidence based practice; 2) Educating clients on the safest way of taking prescribed medications; 3) Providing psychotherapy as needed and working with you.
I assist clients who cannot cope with therapy alone but need an extra boost with the addition of medication. I do refer clients as needed to the appropriate health care providers.
I accept clients who have tried therapy, but still experience the same symptoms. Therapy does work; however, for some, extra help from medications can be essential. Specifically to manage anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, or ADHD. By applying evidence based care, I work in conjunction with therapists to prescribe medications.
