I am a dual board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner & Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and pursuing my Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing at the University of San Diego. I am a board certified fellow in Antiaging and Regenerative medicine. I have a special interest in COVID -19 related mental illness and the mental health recovery of athletes with traumatic brain injuries. I presented my dissertation proposal at Sigma Theta Tau International Research Conference in Scotland Summer 2022 regarding COVID-19 in psych naive patients

I bring more than a decade of clinical expertise with me with experience caring for patients at inpatient psychiatric hospitals, crisis stabilization units, outpatient clinics and community mental health centers. I'm an expert with psychotropic medications but I believe in partnering with you to create a holistic person centered treatment plan. My plans incorporate complementary and alternative therapies in concert with conventional psychiatry, exercise, and a diet designed for a healthy body and mind.

Dr. Mark Chofla is a board-certified psychiatrist and physician who completed his specialty residency training at the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California at Davis, Dr. Chofla earned his medical degree from Midwestern University: Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Mental health is much more than the absence of mental challenges. It encompasses the physical, psychological, social, and emotional aspects of our being and is highly complex and unique to each individual. It is a privilege and a great responsibility when an individual chooses to allow me to participate in their journey. My experiences have taught me that collaboration and teamwork are necessary in any partnership, and working together to find a solution that is attainable and aligns with our goals is a priority.

We are going through a major mental health crisis. I specialize in depression, and anxiety, mood disorders, especially childhood trauma- the topic of my research at UPenn, eating disorders, autism,ADHD. I work well with schools, blended/ mixed families, and have a special interest in College Mental health, having worked at CAPS clinic at UPenn and the Depression Project at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I have a collaborative approach to patient care where parents and the patient are partners in treatment with the doctor. My approach is - start low and go slow on meds. Any meds I will not give my own kids, I wouldn't yours!
