I diagnose and treat adults and adolescents with all psychiatric illnesses. However, I don’t get hung up on labels and diagnoses. My patients describe me as authentic because I treat each person as an individual with their own specific symptoms and needs. I am committed to providing a safe space for LGBTQIA+ patients. I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and have worked in psychiatry for over six years. I earned my BSN and MSN from The George Washington University. While I primarily do medication management, I am also trained in DBT and existential therapy.

I meet patients where they are and provide individualized services to meet the individual's unique needs while working through any stigma or barriers to optimal wellbeing. I provide telehealth services exclusively and see individuals in DC, MD & Virginia for individuals 13 & up.

I am a psychiatrist specializing in therapy and medication management for adults and late adolescents. My practice provides the time for an in-depth assessment of a patient's needs and the formulation of a detailed treatment plan. The initial assessment usually takes two meetings and forms the foundation for an ongoing therapeutic relationship. I primarily utilize psychodynamic approaches, within a holistic framework that considers diet, exercise, and work-life balance. I provide treatment in a warm, compassionate, and accepting environment.

I specialize in integrative, evidence-based medication management. I practice collaboratively, supporting you to achieve your wellness goals. In addition to medication management, I draw on theories of mindfulness, internal family systems (IFS), and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), to provide whole person, supportive care. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar I and II, OCD, PTSD, and perinatal/postpartum mental health concerns. I also specialize in ketamine therapy & transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for medication-resistant anxiety and depression.

I see clients via a privacy protected telemedicine-video conferencing platform (Telemedicine) and in person if preferred. I welcome those who are feeling down, anxious, having difficulty focusing or controlling behavior and those who are concerned with alcohol and drug use. Dr Serghi’s approach to the medical act is built around the central concept of biological, psychological and social determinants to human illness. The core principle of his practice is based on the application of the scientific method to the most current medical evidence for both the diagnosis and the treatment of brain disorders. In addition to expertise in neuropsychiatric diagnoses, Dr Serghi offers both brief psychotherapeutic interventions as well as long term psychodynamic psychotherapy, in combination with medication treatment only if indicated, within the absolute privacy and comfort of the patient-doctor therapeutic space.

I am a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist and psychoanalyst providing individual psychotherapy, play therapy, couples therapy, pharmacotherapy and psychoanalysis to patients for the following presenting symptoms: anxiety, depression, poor school performance, stuttering, lack of motivation, and finding oneself in relationships with people who are devaluating and/or abusive. My interpersonal focus is to help each patient become aware of what he or she consciously or unconsciously does that prevents the patient from developing developmentally enhancing relationships with significant others.
