I specialize in treatment resistant depression, mindfulness based treatments for anxiety/PTSD, and addiction. I believe in a holistic approach which utilizes a combination of intensive psychotherapy and focused medication management when appropriate. In treatment-resistant cases, I have experience in using aggressive medication management with TCAs, MAOIs, and S-Ketamine. Therapy is a critical component of my management combining elements of psychoanalysis and CBT techniques.
I began working in Mental Health in 1991. I received my BS from the University of California where I studied Biology, Cognitive Science, and Psychology. I received my medical degree from Temple University in 2002, completed my residency at Cooper Medical School Department of Psychiatry, and received my PhD from Drexel University in 2013.
My unique background has played a critical role in my approach to psychiatry. I see psychiatry as an art form that provides me the ability to combine the skills gained throughout my medical career to help alleviate the pain and suffering of others.
