I am originally from Lima, Peru and raised in Miami. Growing up I enjoyed playing tennis and reading as much as possible. Upon high school graduation I decided to stay close to my family and attended the University of Miami. During my time there I became an avid fan of the Hurricanes but after college my desire to become a physician and my husband’s job took us to the Midwest. I have since returned to join Delray Beach Psychiatry where I currently treat Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, OCD and PTSD with either medication and/or therapy.

She provides assessments, medication management, and talk therapy to adults and elders suffering from various mental health conditions. Her knowledge and passion merge as she delivers tailored treatment to the specific needs and preferences of each client. Sarah provides education about all available treatment options in a judgement free, safe space where she works together with her patients to formulate a plan of care. She is a mental health advocate, and genuinely cares!

I served as a psychiatrist for over 25 years as a medical director for multiple facilities in Palm Beach County serving clients with anxiety/panic disorder, medication assistant program (suboxone)/ addiction treatment, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, attention deficit disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, developmental disorder (autism) for child/adolescent, adults, and geriatrics population. I provide optimal medication management and continued care.

Sima Alavi is a Board Certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She began her career in 1995, after graduating from the University of Miami and continued on to earn her masters and Doctorate degree in the field of mental health with specialization in both children and adults. Her focus is in rehabilitation, detoxification, and recovery for both inpatient and outpatient treatment centers. Through evaluation and stabilization, she targets treatment for individuals experiencing a crisis situation and those who seek the need for immediate intervention. She works collaboratively with fellow psychiatric practitioners

I received my medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, where I first fell in love with the field of psychiatry and the opportunity it presents to help people achieve recovery and overcome mental health challenges. I went on to complete my psychiatry residency at Temple University Hospital, where I served as a chief resident during my final year of training. I treat adult patients with a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, Bipolar Disorder and OCD. I moved from New York in 2015 to be closer to my family and to help raise my children. As most know it takes a village. I will admit the weather and palm trees don't hurt either.
