I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and I decided to become a nurse to have a positive impact on the lives of my clients. I have experience working with patients struggling with bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, schizoaffective disorder, gender dysphoria, panic attacks, ADHD (children and adults) and PANDAS. I enjoy working with all conditions. I also work with patients dealing with substance use disorders.

I provide care to patients (14 and older) with a wide range of mental health concerns, specializing in mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, as well as psychotic, neurocognitive and neurodevelopmental disorders, ADHD, and OCD. I also provide prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum psychiatric care.

Dr. Chioma Ahaiwe doctorate degree prepared psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Board-certified with extensive focus on patient centered approach, psychotherapy, medication management, prioritizing patient goals, and education across lifespan, including geriatrics and underserved communities. Years of experience in acute, inpatient, outpatient, SNFs, and behavioral health setting while utilizing biopsychosocial model and evidenced based practice to better patient outcomes. About the Provider: I am a Board Certified, Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, (PMHNP-BC). I obtained my prfessional degree from Walden University. Over the years, I had professional affiliations with reputable mental health facilities including Bakersfield behavior, John George psych and more. I treat children and adults affected by various mental illness with care and compassion. I utilize Evidence Based Practice model to make treatment choices. I am specialized in treating ADHD, depression, anxiety and mood instability. Stimulant and non stimulant treatment are available. I do conduct ADHD screening and testing before treatment.

I practice integrative psychiatry and psychotherapy and am dedicated to nurturing whole-body health and wellness in my patients. I was born in Long Beach, California, where I was raised by immigrant parents from Mexico, instilling in me a profound appreciation for the interconnectedness of culture and mental heath. Central to my practice is the belief that true healing encompasses the totality of the individual, honoring their unique journey.

A Compassionate Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with expertise in management and supervision of Family through life Span medical care with an additional certification in Psychiatric Mental Health nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). With over half a decade years of clinical experience in diverse settings, offering excellent patient assessment skills and a dedication to providing holistic, high-quality care. Skilled in inpatient and outpatient teaching with a strong emphasis in mental health care, medical preventative care, case management and administration.
