I am a highly compassionate child, adolescent adult psychoanalyst and psychiatrist.I speak several languages including Farsi,have had the pleasure of working with patients of all ages from various cultures. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, young adults especially college students. While at UCLA I was awarded the Certificate of Honor in Recognition of Outstanding Achievement In Human Relations and Communication which led me to pursue a career in psychiatry.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist with advanced training in psychotherapy providing a wide range of psychiatric services, including consultation, psychotherapy, and medication management when appropriate.

I am a Columbia University trained psychiatrist and psychotherapist and the Medical Director of Greene Clinic. My treatment model combines evidence based psychotherapies, medications, nutrition and complementary/alternative interventions with the goal of providing comprehensive, well rounded, and individually focused care. Psychotherapy is central to my work and I utilize a variety of modalities including interpersonal psychoanalysis, psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). My approach is collaborative and non-authoritarian. OUT of network for all insurances.

Sina Shahamatdar, MD (www.SinaMDpsychiatry.com) is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center & a board-certified psychiatrist and therapist who has trained and practiced in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry at world-renowned institutions including Johns Hopkins, Columbia, Cornell, and Howard University. Dr. Sina’s expertise in childhood mental health enhances his ability to more holistically understand his adult patients as well, and the deeply-entrenched patterns of behavior, emotion, and thinking that are often rooted in early life experiences.

Dr. Tavakkoli is a New York-based, board-certified psychiatrist with more than 20 years of clinical, public health, and leadership experience. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University and is affiliated with Rockland Psychiatric Center. Dr. Tavakkoli has degrees in Medicine and Public Health from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Global Health and Population from Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his psychiatry residency and chief residency at New York Medical College and has previously served as the Chief of Inpatient Psychiatry and Site Director for medical student edu

We provider psychotherapy, or talk therapy, which is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms in relation to the process of life transitions, relational problems, emotional difficulties, and work-life balance issues.

Dr. Nargus Harounzadeh, DrNP, 500-RYT, is both a doctorally trained psychiatric nurse practitioner and a yoga therapist. She provides talk therapy, movement therapy, and medication management for attention and performance issues, relationship issues, mood issues, and self-esteem issues. She cares for patients with ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, substance use disorders, trauma, eating disorders, and schizophrenia. Dr. Harounzadeh also serves as an Attending on the Forensic Inpatient Psychiatry Service at Bellevue Hospital Center and Clinical Instructor at NYU School of Medicine.

Dr. Mousavi holds the position of attending psychiatrist at Talkiatry. She is Board certified in adult psychiatry and has been practicing for over 6 years. Dr. Mousavi's practice focuses on medication management. Typically, she offers this in conjunction with supportive therapy in 30-minute follow up visits. Dr. Mousavi may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome.

I am a practicing adult psychiatrist in New York City. I graduated medical school in Iran with honors. I completed my psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I have received additional training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma and Dissociation-focused psychotherapy, Couple and Family Therapy, and completed an Intensive Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Fellowship at The William Alanson White Institute. My primary focus revolves around mood and anxiety disorders, as well as trauma.

Dr. Viga Naik takes a holistic approach when practicing, understanding the importance of an integrative treatment care model. She believes optimal patient care goes beyond psychopharmacology and requires incorporation of psychotherapy and psychosocial intervention. She's a strong advocate for her patients dedicated to being an educator of mental illness to break self, societal and systemic stigmas. She believes a strong therapeutic alliance between clinician and patient is essential. She works on creating a safe & empathetic environment, providing psychoeducation to patients empowering them to play an active role in their treatment.

Anything that we as humans get exposed to in life can cause us to develop feelings and fantasies. At times when these feelings and fantasies are considered "unacceptable" due to fears, upbringing, culture, religion, norm or whatever else, such feelings and fantasies become unconscious. It means they exist and govern our lives but we are not conscious/aware of them. Such unconscious materials lead to psychiatric and physical manifestations including but not limited to anxiety, depression, physical ailments and many other presentations. I am trained to explore such unconscious feelings/fantasies in children, adolescents, and adults.
