I have trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy, family and marital therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as medication management. I am a board certified family psychiatric /mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), with prescriptive privileges. I graduated from Adelphi University, cum laude, with a BSN and earned my MS, NP from Stony Brook University, where I was awarded distinction for Overall Excellence in Psychiatric/Mental Health and inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.

I started my career as a nurse in a state-run psychiatric emergency room where I treated patients along the entire spectrum of psychiatric illnesses; many of whom were in the most emotionally vulnerable time in their lives. Having experienced this severity of psychiatric illnesses everyday allowed me to develop a level of expertise to quickly recognize symptoms and develop an accurate diagnosis so we can initiate the best treatment plan for you from the very beginning. I understand that those suffering with emotional pain cannot wait months for relief, and they shouldn't have to. I understand the need for rapid healing.

Mental health conditions can be debilitating and become obstacles in the way of us from pursuing our dreams. I am here to work with you to navigate those obstacles and gain control of your future. With the utilization of both brief psychotherapy and/or medication management; I have worked successfully with Adults, Adolescents and Children who have psychiatric issues of Depression, Anxiety, Sleep Difficulties, ADHD, Behavioral Disorders, OCD, Eating Disorders; Mood Disorders, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia.

Frederick Scholl MSN, APRN, PMHNP is a board-certified practitioner in psychiatry, licensed and registered in NYS. He specializes in treating a number of conditions with medication, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and attention deficit disorder. In addition, we are now offering medication assisted treatment with Suboxone for opioid dependence. Frederick is a consultant for several area hospitals. His extensive experience includes emergency psychiatry, geriatric, adult, forensic and outpatient care.

I am a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master's Degree in Nursing from Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, specializing in medication management for mental health.
