I am an adult psychiatrist with 24 years of experience in treating patients who struggle with a large array of psychiatric diagnoses including psychosis, mania/bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and substance abuse. I started my career as a researcher at NIDA working with children, adolescents and adults with ADD, ADHD, CD and ODD. I am a former sub-investigator for studies pivoting around psychosis, bipolar disorder and depression. My approach in treating patients is multifaceted, including psychopharmacology, individual, couple and family therapy, genetic testing, TMS, ECT.

Hawa Fofanah is a Board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Her health career started in cardiac step-down care. She worked inpatient settings as a registered nurse caring for people with varying medical challenges. She later became a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and practiced for many years in family medicine, before eventually transitioning to Psychiatric mental health. Her passion for mental health grew out of the growing need for mental health providers. In primary care she got to witness how challenging it was for some of her patients to get even an initial psychiatric evaluation.

I'm warm, friendly and I'm here to help you get through some of life's most difficult moments. As a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, I work with clients throughout their life cycle. I see patients individually, in family settings and couples. When treating a child or adolescent, you are really helping a whole family system regain balance and stability. I work with people with a wide range of disorders and life issues. I patients with Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. I also work with children and adolescents with academic and developmental difficulties which may include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Executive Functioning Difficulties and Asperger's Syndrome.

Our veterans and their family members are a priority to me. I also welcome clients and their pets who have been dealing with chronic medical illness and pain. I have seen clients for many years who are managing addiction and related couple/family issues. I spent decades in hospital settings seeing clients with all sorts of grieving concerns. From health, lifestyle, legal, and stress management to end-of-life challenges, I am delighted to assist clients to approach situations in a hopeful, pragmatic, and strategic manner with the goal of achieving greater mind, body, and spirit health and wellness.

I am a board certified psychiatrist with extensive training in Child Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry. I implement a treatment model that uses different interventions tailored to the patient's individual needs. I specialize in active listening to provide a diagnosis and then specific interventions to bring relief to the patients and their families. Once the emergency is addressed, the next step is to focus on the most important tools for the patient- early recognition, education, and preventive interventions to manage stress.

Aanu Olorunsola MSN, CRNP, PMHNP-BC is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, with training and experience treating patients with psychiatric disorders, to assist the client in coordinating and managing their mental health necessities, using the techniques of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery appropriate to the clients’ culture. I focus on cost effective and solid evidence based practice, providing effective and innovative whole health care for the people and community I serve.

My ideal client is an adult who is struggling with adult ADHD & depression. You may feel overwhelmed and struggle to complete tasks and you may experience a lack of motivation and energy that makes it challenging to engage in these tasks or daily activities. You might find it difficult to get out of bed or take care of basic tasks due to depressive symptoms.

Licensed in DC, MD and NY. I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a Masters in Counseling. I offer holistic mental health services including, psychiatric evaluations, medication management. My area of specialty includes: ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma including narcissistic abuse recover.

I work with people whose blocked feelings lead to physical and/or emotional pain, and help couples in problematic relationships develop clearer boundaries. I also have expertise with people facing end-of-life issues and welcome those who seek to explore these concerns.
