No parent likes to see their child sad or suffering. I understand these concerns from my experience as a mental health practitioner and from being a parent. I am Stephanie Streb, DNP, PMHNP-BC, and I am a psychiatric mental health provider who focuses on treating children, adolescents, and the family unit. I treat medication responsive psychiatric disorders (e.g. ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, bipolar, OCD). I am well liked for my ability to quickly and sincerely connect with, educate, and treat both children and parents, by providing medication and behavior management approaches which make a difference for the entire family.
While a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa, I embraced the saying, "going slowly does not prevent you from arriving." I believe in taking time with my patients. As a provider, I weave my diverse experiences to think broadly, integrate academic knowledge, and empathize with a wide range of experiences.
Having trained in a variety of settings, I know that mental health is not something that can be rushed, and some conditions require expertise. I chose to be in private practice where I can take the time needed, be available to patients, and consult with experts in medication and therapy.
