My name is Gonzalo Laje and I am a doubled Board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience and special interest in psychopharmacology. I completed my training at NYU/Bellevue Hospital and NIMH/Children's in DC. I evaluate and treat patients of all ages and severities with an emphasis on difficult to treat cases. My goal is to alleviate your symptoms and improve your quality of life.
I worked at the NIH for almost a decade focusing on pharmacogenetics, neuroimaging and genetic disorders. I have published peer-reviewed articles in many areas including Autism Spectrum Disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, diagnosis and use of medication in children and adults. My research experience gives me a different perspective on treatment approach
I use a wide range of therapeutic interventions that include behavioral management, psychotherapy, neuromodulation (TMS) and medication. I am very comfortable with the management of regimens that use a single drug to complex multi drug regimens and I am experienced in the use of advanced medications such as ketamine, depot antipsychotics and clozapine.
