One of my other areas of clinical interest is functional psychiatry, where we attempt to find the root cause of an individual’s mental illness. This may involve looking for genetic, nutritional, hormonal, and environmental factors that may be causing or worsening an individual’s psychiatric symptoms.
I have neurodivergent family members and am proudly neurodivergent myself. I also have significant experience working with individuals from marginalized groups in the college health setting, and I proudly practice as an ally to LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent people, and people of color.
