Board-Certified in Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Addiction Psychiatry, for 25 years Dr. Eric Nicholson has specialized in non-autistic and autistic individuals with trauma-related disorders (including PTSD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder/OCD-Spectrum Disorders including Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (trichotillomania, skin picking) with Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/Exposure/Response Prevention therapy with Inhibitory Learning, Habit Reversal Training and prescription medicine as needed. He also expertly treats all Addictions and Depressive & Anxiety Disorders (Social Anxiety, Panic disorders).
Dr. Nicholson will work closely with parents to improve their relationships with their child and improve their ability to provide support, guidance and encouragement necessary to eliminate maladaptive behaviors and overcome anxiety and depression, by eliminating any counterproductive accommodating/enabling behaviors and, if present, end the “coercive cycle”.
Dr. Nicholson spends multiple hours per session one or more times a week for a flat fee per session to encourage participation and improve outcomes. He addresses peer-socialization, sleep, exercise, diet and nutrition. He will not provide “medication only” services for new patients. Out-of-Network regarding insurance. He CANNOT treat those covered by Husky.
