If you are reading this, it is likely your anxiety, depression or relationship problems have reached a point where you are wanting to get help through work with another person. You are understandably curious as to how I might be of help to you. In my 30 years in private practice, I have found that a mutually respectful therapeutic alliance utilizing psychodynamic insights and mindfulness based techniques, can help restore your ability to find joy and satisfaction in yourself, your relationships and your work. As you might expect, being a psychiatrist, I can use medication as an adjunct to therapy.
I received my initial training in Psychotherapy through Long Island Jewish Hillside, followed by an Adult Psychotherapy Fellowship there, and completed the academic requirements at New York University's Psychoanalytic Institute. Most recently I have had training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for use in both individual and group settings.
Over the course of my career I have been Medical Director of a drug and alcohol clinic and presently I am Director of Psychiatry for an agency working with the developmentally disabled and their families. I have worked with a wide range of individuals in many life circumstances.
