Dr. Brus is one of the few psychiatrists in New York formally trained in both Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). He is one of fewer than 800 people worldwide to be certified by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, the leading indicator of CBT skill and expertise.
Dr. Brus took a non-traditional path to psychiatry, gaining valuable life experience as a journalist and social worker before entering medical school and residency. He is a Mount Sinai faculty member and was recently named a rising star in mental health by the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
