Leticia has experience with patients who have to balance mental health issues with their chronic disease management.

I believe the most important aspects of a quality assessment and therapeutic relationship is active listening and clear communication. I appreciate that everyone has their unique story and personal struggles. Allotting 90 minutes for an initial encouter allows me the time to provide a comprehensive assessment and construct an individualized plan of care. Margaret Beymer is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Indiana. Since 2012, Margaret has been working in the medical field and heard these concerns repeatedly. Sheryl Terzini is a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist who has been practicing since 1982. She graduated from IU School of Nursing with a degree in Psychiatric nursing and community mental health. She had a fellowship for study from the NIMH. Sheryl believes in focusing on the whole body and self and not just treating symptoms. She believes in an integrated approach with other providers and specialists. Her main focus is assessment for medication, but may also include brief therapy, referrals, and lab tests to fully diagnose the situation.

My primary goal for each and every one of my patients is to assist them in reaching their optimal state of health in order that they may resume living with renewed hope and passion. Though my training and focus initiated in psychiatry, I believe that problems related to depressed mood, insomnia, weight gain/loss, fatigue, and anxiety are actually only symptoms of dysfunction and or inflammation in other systems of the body. These underlying causes of poor health must be identified and treated correctly in order for the patient to achieve optimal physical and mental health.

I am an adult and adolescent psychiatrist at Indiana Health Group in Carmel. Typically I see patients from 12-75 y/o. I am also the team psychiatrist for the Indianapolis Colts. My certifications include NFL (National Football League) Certified Evaluator for Performance-Enhancing Substances as well as a Suboxone prescriber. I see patients for psychopharmacology medication evaluations and follow-up visits, as well as health management in relation to his/her mental health needs. In addition, I am a firm believer in the mental health benefits of exercise, work/personal life balance, positive relationships, and evidence-based medicine.

The stigma of mental health disorders and/or addiction often stops people from seeking assistance for several reasons. Fear of judgement. Fear of being treated like a number, not a human being. Fear of being "told" what the treatment plan is. I believe in creating a safe space for the patient and provider to build trust, determine long-term and short-term goals which leads to the start of a successful journey together.
