My name is Dr. Edyn McKinnon, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC. I received my Associate of Science Degree from South Georgia College in 2009. I then went to Georgia Southern University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011. I then earned my Family Nurse Practitioner degree and started working in psychiatry. I worked in psychiatry for the past 9 years. In July of 2021, I went back to school and earned a Post Masters Certificate for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Valdosta State University. And I later obtained my Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree (DNP) in May of 2024 from Valdosta State University.
The appointments are set in a calm, Warm, and Open-minded tone. My favorite compliment from patients is that, as a provider, I actively listen and make them feel human, as others in the past did not.
I would love to work with you and formulate a treatment plan that is appropriate for you. I believe that it is important for me as a provider to involve patients in this process. This will provide the best patient outcome. I don't want to be the provider that just prescribes pills.
